DETAILED INFO: The boat is a model F-23 built in Florida in 1987, and apparently is relatively rare (there is one other in the NW I am aware of). It is based on the designs of Don Aronow (the genesis of the name Donzi) and genius behind a series of offshore race boats. In addition to Donzi, he founded Magnum, Cigarette and other race boat companies. In the late '80s, Donzi marketed a series of fast, well-appointed sport boats (Z-boats in 23, 25, 29 and 33 ft. lengths) with deep-vee hulls and high performance engines. The F-23 uses this hull design with an enlarged cockpit to better accommodate fishing, so it is truly multi-purpose---sport, fish, ski. The boat has a cuddy cabin that will accommodate 2 comfortably with access thru a smoked Plexiglas door from the cockpit and a Bowmar smoked glass hatch overhead. There is no on-board galley or head, but there is plenty of room for a porta-potty. Stock hull colors were red, blue, green or yellow with white decks. The red is a bright red, a la Ferrari, though the sides are showing a little fade. The bottom is perfect. Cockpit cushions are light gray with red accents. Power is via a MerCruiser 260 (based on a Chevy 350 cid block) and Alpha 1 outdrive. The engine, outdrive and trim pump have been completely gone through by a local MerCruiser dealer and has yet to be broken in; at the time this work was done, I had a new fresh-water (closed) cooling system installed (it did not have one originally). When properly broken in and trimmed properly, the boat has a top speed in excess of 50 mph. Topside, the design does allow walk-around to the bow on non-skid decking with safety provided by an extended one-piece stainless bow railing. Custom stainless railings were added at the stern by the original owners. The original top bows and canvas are included; a cockpit cover (as I've seen on the other F-23) could be added easily. I bought the boat about 6 years ago because I wanted a Donzi from the time I first saw one over 40 years ago. I'm selling it because I bought a trawler more suited to cruising---and I don't fish! Included are a galvanized Calkins 2-axle trailer in good condition, a 9.9 hp kicker motor with new transom mount and auto-oiler built into the boat, an unused stainless prop (spare), new seats, a bag full of water ski gear (ropes, tows, and flotation), PFDs, a pair of Cannon electric downriggers and some electronics (fish-finder, radio) that were with the boat when I got it but unused by me. The Donzi is a superb handler, stays dry even in choppy water, and a perfect lake boat in my opinion.
