This is a fresh water 1987 FC 23 (Fish Cuddy) with low hours originally from the Finger Lakes Region of New York State. I fell in love with this rare Donzi back in ’87 when I worked for a Donzi dealer in CT. She has the late 80’s “Z” hull (~22 deg deadrise) that comes alive at high speeds. Currently, with the 260hp mercruiser and SS prop, the best speed I saw was 51.8mph (GPS). Hopefully there will be some engine modifications in the future, but right now I am keeping a little $$$ aside just in case something ‘goes boom.’ There was a bit of minor debugging at first, but now the boat is in excellent condition. She came with hardly any options or accessories, only a depthfinder and VHF. So, there are lots of toys to add! My wife and I like to fish, so this boat was the perfect combination of Donzi performance and fish ability. The cockpit is huge and fits 6 people comfortably. We keep her in Niantic Connecticut (dry stored) and go boating mostly in Long Island Sound. This summer we cruised to Block Island twice and fished ~5 miles into the Atlantic. It was great! We named her “AMAROK” which means WOLF in the Alaskan Inuit language. This is in honor of our two Alaskan Malamutes who prefer to go boating in a snowstorm. I have been reading the registry for several years and have to say what an awesome group of folks. (Oct 2003)
