I PURCHASED THIS BOAT ABOUT ONE MONTH AGO. I WAS GOING THROUGH A STRESSFUL TIME IN MY LIFE AND NEEDED A CHANGE. THIS ALL OF COURSE HAD TO DO WITH A GIRL, HENSE THE NAME OF THE BOAT. I HAD JUST TOLD MY FATHER THAT ABOUT THIS TIME NEXT YEAR I WOULD SPEND ABOUT 5 GRAND ON A BOAT TO RUN DOWN TO THE LITTLE EGG INLET ON LONG BEACH ISLAND IN NEW JERSEY AS WELL AS SOME DRINKING ESTABLISHMENTS NEAR BY. WELL, HE SHOWED ME THIS BOAT AND IT WAS ALL OVER. AFTER A WEEK OF THOUGHT, I KNEW I HAD TO MAKE SOME FINANCIAL SACRIFICES AND TAKE IT. WELL, I TOLD THE GUY THAT I WOULD BE BY A WEEK LATER TO PICK UP THE BOAT AND PAY HIM. HIS FATHER DECIDED HE WOULD CHANGE THE OIL FOR ME THAT WEEK SO IT WOULD BE READY. WELL, I CALLED FRIDAY TO COME PICK IT UP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD NOT SELL IT TO ME BECAUSE IT SUDDENLY HAD NO OIL PRESSURE. I TOLD HIM I DIDN'T CARE, I WOULD FIX IF I COULD AND IF NOT I KNEW SOMEONE WHO COULD. WELL, I TOOK THIS RED AND WHITE GEM HOME FOR NEXT TO NOTHING AND STARTED WORKING. I AM NOT ONE FOR KNOWING ABOUT ENGINES AND MY FATHER KNEW A MECHANIC AT A LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP. HE WAS MORE THAN HAPPY TO HELP OUT. THE MAN I BOUGHT THE BOAT FROM THOUGHT THE OIL PUMP WAS SHOT, SO WE BEGAN BY HOISTING THE BLOCK OUT. WELL, ABOUT 5 HOURS OF WORK LATER WE FIGURED OUT THAT THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH THE BOAT WAS THE OIL FILTER. IT WAS GREAT THOUGH THAT I GOT TO LEARN SO MUCH. IT ALSO GOT ALL NEW GASKETS AND WIRES AND WAS FINALLY READY TO GO. WELL THE FIRST VOYAGE I MADE ALONE LAST SATURDAY EVENING. I RAN INTO AN OVERHEATING PROBLEM AND WAS TOWED BACK BY SOME FRIENDS. WE WORKED THE KINKS OUT AND ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON MY TWO BROTHERS AND I HAD A BLAST BEATING THE SNOT OUT OF MY BUDDY'S 20'CENTURY. I LOOK FORWARD TO MANY MORE JET RACES. AS FAR AS THE SPECS ON THE ENGINE, I KNOW IT IS A SMALL BLOCK CHEVY FROM 1987. BUT, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAS BEEN DONE TO IT OR THE POWER IT PUTS OUT. THE HULL IS IN GREAT CONDITION BUT THE APHOLSTERY NEEDS SOME WORK. THIS IS MY FIRST POWER BOAT AND I PLAN TO FIX IT UP AND KEEP IT FOR A WHILE. IT SURE TURNS HEADS AND RECEIVES NOTHING BUT COMPLIMENTS.
