    bimini top for classic?

I have a shelby 22 and need sun protection. What do you guys suggest? I don't want to install a permanent bimini top. Just need something I can put up easily when on the anchor or tied up.

The "Lost Bwana" Bimini Shade used to be the best but it looks like they don't sell them anymore. This leaves the second choice, Anchor Shade. We put ours up all the time when we're just floating. They're easy to put up and cover most of the cockpit.

I think what you're looking for is an AnchorShade.

I mounted an ss fishing rod holder to the foreward wall of my in floor locker. Then glued a short piece of pipe insulation to the bottom of a beach umbrella, scored a few times to make it a nice snug fit.

The umbrella stows away in the ski locker when not in use, gives my wife shade when needed, and matches the boat. Plus, the total cost for this modification was about $15.

Sorry kids but I live in SW FL and a bimini is next to God down here. Went for the maiden voyage yesterday and almost melted. The hardware will be INSIDE the windshield so the lines will not be compromised when it is down or off the boat. I understand your concerns but down here it is a matter of life or death.

I like the ss Fishing rod idea.... but isn't that a bit too close to the fuel tank?
been looking for a similar solution for a while now!

I will adopt a version of of Tony's setup not sure where to mount the bracket. I will use a regular patio umbrella weight for now then locate the best spot. I will use a slightly larger "market " style umbrella also .

I also have the 4 x 10 ski locker if I really need to get out of the sun. I know that's not availble on 22. only issue I have is if I block the boss' sun me and the umbrella will be left at the dock.

Its hard to be humble when you own a Donzi. (In my humble opinion).

No offense to those guys but I can get a custom SS/Sunbrella top for about $700. Marine surplus had a bunch that people I guess never picked up and I paid $100 for mine new a few years back. I will be installing it this week. I had a custom aluminum one made for my 19' Whaler that looks like a dive flag for $340. $1600??? They would starve in FL charging that.

Beach umbrella here. At the moment I move the floor locker cover and slide it down inside the floor locker.*note* I don't have the locker insert screwed down,so I can put the pole beside the floor cut out and the insert. then I tie front to back with my stern and bow line's.

I plan on removing the SS carriage bolt setup for pulling up the locker cover. Drill a big hole to allow a turned collar insert that will allow the pole to pass through. The collar will be radiused and beveled "kind of like a button head screw". The the pole will pass through the locker insert down to the bottom of the bilge, where another holster will be epoxied in place . That way the top holster does not have to be long. I'm thinking that when I need to pull th locker cover up ,I will be able to put two fingers in the collar hole and pull it up.

    * Or I could just use Tony's method*
machinist ,bore it deeper, ream it bigger, and lap it to a fine finish
