we had a previous topic on this a few years back... if I remember right Bud Dawson from Fla Marine Service originally sold 4 of the tri-power 440-375's to Donzi for the 21's, and I *think* one more for an 18? ... memory is hazy...

Welcome to the board. You probably have a Chrysler Marine 440 six-pack. The marine version of the musclecar engine was rated 375 hp. The V drive is likely a Crusader Marine 4500 and is drived by a Borg Warher 72C tranny. That is what is in my 1971 Hornet.

Engine manuals are available online and there is a guy in Ohio who rebuilds the V Drive.

    L.J.,
Without the numbers, I would make a guess that there were 20 I/O Donzis made to every v drive - probably a much higher percentage. You have a rare boat there. What color combo is it? Bill

    Garry,
I have almost forgotten about a v drive whine - a highly cool sound only surpassed by a blower whine - . You could always upload a video to youtube and then provide a link, but I think this site allows video uploads which would save a step or two. Did you get and try another prop yet?
