    Hull# 539 1976 18 classic

    Hi all,

I posted in a different section with no luck so thought I would try here. Trying to find our old Yellow 1976 2+3. Hull# 539. It was sold in South Jersey in 1983 after it was in an accident. Any help is appreciated. To old for NJ DMv records. Thanks and delete if this is not allowed here.

Might be a long shot - but another starting point (if you haven't done this already) is to search the Boat Registry in the top left corner of this site. There are 1400 boats on there, many are 18s. You can sort by hull length (best bet). Keep in mind, many people have the year of their boat incorrect, so if you can scan all the 18 hull length serial numbers looking for 539 in the sequence, you may luck out. There are also a lot of aftermarket hull numbers in there that give no clue as to the real serial number. Another option would be to then sort by state and focus on the perimeter of where it was last seen - a longer shot, but you never know. This registry dates back to 1998 or so, so many registered boats may have changed hands since listed on the registry.

Good luck. I want you to find this boat.

Thank you !! I tried that and no luck. I found hull#'s before and after but not ours....hopefully one day it turns up. My father passed away with this boat so its not like we are just trying to find ti for the heck of it, means a lot.

    Thanks again.

it may also help to post on craigslist as a wanted ad but there is also a possibility the boat may no longer exist sorry to say , with general age and the super storms we have had recently it may have been destroyed.

There're some boat ID# look up sites that list current owner and info.
I found this out last year when the original owner of my '88 TR called me!
This was a big surprise as he's not a member of any boating forums.
