    throttle/shifter cables

Has anyone changed out the older KM cables for the newer 33c type cables ? I have a 22 classic and am wondering what length to order and do the newer style cables fit into the shift plate ? I had to order a new shifter as I bent the back plastic cover on my stock shifter ( commander 3000) while I was running hose for the new helm . The cable barrels will now release from the shifter . I am switching over to a 2 lever hardin marine set up and it accepts the newer gen2 style or morse 33c style cables only ..

Yes the newer cables will fit, take a look at your existing cables they should have some numbers on them, the last 2 digits typically indicate the length.
