    OMC Cobra drive water pump.......

    Do you guys just change the impeller yearly or when it looks rough? How about changing the housing, the cage, and the gaskets?

    It is best to just buy the kit with everything and replace it together. I think it depends on usage, storage conditions etc. 2-4 years would seem to be fine.

    I agree, and $35 is cheap insurance. Plus, its so much easier to replace than when I had an Alpha drive.

    I do the whole kit every two years. Like you said, cheap insurance.

    i do the whole kit, and have my shift cable alignment checked all at once yearly...........no cooling problems to date
