There's a Spitfire hiding in the woods...

I finally had the chance to go and look over the Spitfire I have known about for a while. I think it's been parked under these trees for about 15 years. ...shame because it looks like it was a decent boat when parked just missing the engines and drives. It would be a huge project and man would I be upside down in it but I'm a sucker for taking home strays.

I think it could be saved but man what an undertaking!

The problem w/Spitfires and their cousins is the method of construction.....
Just ask Bill (old Red Alert).
To do this correctly would probably cost more than a new 22.

...yep, I was thinking maybe 50k invested for a 25-30K boat. Sounds about like all boats.

If you're sinking that kind of $$ how about something really unique like this....(not mine, sounds like it ticks a lot of your boxes)....

It's a shame that it always seems that these cool boats are never found to have been put away years prior nice and dry in a barn.
They're always outside in the weeds under a damn tree .
(And rarely with a cover )
Just because something's old doesn't mean you throw it away !

This one has a cover and it seems to have helped but it's pretty worn out now...

Yes that's a looker for sure. I'm just kicking tires and bouncing ideas around right now.
