Merc 502 Mag User
Several years back I installed a BoostPower K&N filter assembly on my 502 Mag MFI. No problems installing it. Last time I washed and re-oiled the filter is was really hard to fit the filter back into the channels of the assembly. This time it is impossible to get the filter back in and washing and re-oiling. Do you think the filter shrank from washing or old age? I finally just removed it and re-installed the OEM spark arrestor

I have not seen one shrink before. I would be tempted to heat it up and see if it stretches.
I have a different K&N and these things are expensive for boats. Two to three times what I paid for car filters.
