Faded red stripe buffed out/ Expel wrapped

I had posted a thread a while back regarding my faded red stripe on my 2000 18 Classic. Rather than paint it, I decided to machine polish it with 3M Marine Polish/Gloss and Color Restorer. It came out great as it did in the past. Since it always faded, I decided to lock in the shine by having it "wrapped" with Expel Ultra. It is a clear plastic like film that is used commonly on new autos to protect them and maintain the finish. The installer had done some of my cars and does great work. I am very pleased with how it came out. I did the entire bow area and the rear hatch. Here are some pics:

Now it's ready to go in the water tomorrow.

That looks pretty darn good on the stripe. Is that wrap product kinda like applying clear coat?

Greg, it's actually better. It's kind of a heavy, transparent plastic sheet that not only provides protection, but enhances the shine. He did my Z06 Vette and Viper. He's very good. He did the nose on the Viper and the mirrors. On the Z06, he did the nose, mirrors, rocker panels and the entire rear 1/4's on both sides. You can't even see it. To maintain it, you just use a spray detailer with a microfiber. Great stuff.

Gotcha, excellent solution. You are lucky to have a skilled guy like that in your area.

Dock and boat went in the water yesterday. It's officially summer! Boat ran great after a long winter's hibernation. Fun to be out in it again.
