Thumbs up Trim Tabs and External Steering

Looking to replace my "Trim Master" trim tabs and install external steering this winter. Found the Trim Master is out of business would like to replace with Lenco or Bennett electric tabs. However, looks like I will have filled holes showing as the Trim Master's have 4 screw bracket pattern and the Lenco as well as Bennett's are three screw. Any feedback about electric trim tabs would be appreciated. For the steering I have found threads here that guys like the Zeiger product. Also mention where to buy. Pat McPherson has mention these two projects might also be on his plate this winter. Would sure like to hear his thoughts. He helped with the selection of a prop for me last year.

IMCO also makes a good steering system. I have IMCO on my 28' Warlock and it works perfect - solid, stout and plenty of bling.

Please don't ditch the Trimmaster stuff .
I wouldn't mind a few spares if it's all in working condition !
Just because something's old doesn't mean you throw it away !

yes, I'm planning to upgrade my steering

I have K-Planes so no planned changes there.
Both Zeiger and Imco have single piston "add on" systems that will fit within the limited room my boat has between the transom assembly and K-Plane.
I prefer the Imco drive mount so leaning that direction.

    Zieger, very happy with it.

Bennett rams with a Canadian tab.

Name escapes me, but Mr. Carter would know.

This is the stern of my 22C Testa Rossa.
You can also put together your own system using Hynautic K5B cylinders, and various other pieces. It can be done for probably less than half the price of other systems.
The tabs are Hynautic Power Planes. They're great tabs, but you'll probably
    never find any like this.

Hey Patrick, the Hynautic Power Plane package was unique in that it combined tab controls
and indicators in two paddles that protruded through the dash in two vertical slots.
Very easy to use and you always know where your tabs are.
    Maybe I'll post pictures later.

Patrick, here's a picture of when I was dis-assembling the controls.
You can see the micro switches on either side of the paddle.
If you were to push the paddle to the left, one of the tabs would go up.
The arm to the lower right would have a control cable attached to it, so
that the tab rises, and pushes the paddle upward in the dash slot.
To lower the tab, push to the right, the switch engages, runs the tab down,
the control cable lowers the paddle in its slot.
    Neat, huh?
