Corsican hull 24 was black and white not purple do you have any others serial numbers from motor or drive if they are original
24 was sold to barracuda built in oct of 68 225 hp HM 289 with aq 200 Volvo outdrive

Black?
Sweet!
The motor and drive are not the original ones, so those numbers won't be of any use, unfortunately.
Here is an old thread about the boat: http://seriousoffshore.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=19476
kind of hard to verify history if you don't actually see a hull number on the boat or have the numbers off the original power plant hull 24 was also not a two toned deck boat it had an all white deck over a white hull bottom and black hull sides I would check by the bow eye and up near the dash on the backside or on the underside of the deck near the dash maybe you find something

Yes, it is his old boat.
I don't know if it is the original bellhousing. I would assume not because it is now a duoprop outdrive and has been through 1 or 2 motors since new.
The fact that it chews up starters is also an indication that the bellhousing is not the one that came with this block.....
----Robbie,,,If Mattys description of #24 is correct I may have owned that Corsican way back in 1970. I was living in south Florida and bought a Corsican in that color combo and drivetrain from some people in Miami beach. They had it hanging on davits in front of their house. It was my first Donzi and I was pretty clueless about it. Turned out that the boat had been abused pretty badly by the 1st owners. I didn't keep it long and had the guys at the in-and-out next to Magnum sell it for me. I never knew enough back then to keep track of the serial #s so cant help you much more than this.........Bill S
Bill
maybe Barracuda ordered three Corsicans in that color combo in a short period of time they must have liked that color combo
Rob the starter issue can be a pain you will need to research the motor. If the motor is a 351 Boss it is different from the 351w it is a cleveland motor and they did use the same bell housing as the windsor in some cases but there is a 351 cleveland M motor that had a different bell housing( i do not know of any marine apps with this motor). I would think cause it is mated to the volvo that the windsor style bell housing is on there I would think your issue may be the flywheel and getting the right starter
I went thru this with my 302 and it was the difference between a starter for and automatic and manual trans

The 351C block is not original to the boat.
It is mated to a Holman Moody bellhousing.
The numbers on the HM are: 03HM-4038-1
uNDER THAT IS SAYS: GM300-4V
03 or C3???
yes not original sounds like it is a mixture of old and new

It might be C. It's hard to tell exactly.....
I painted that boat about seven years ago and Adam Shook (then in Bucyrus OH) rigged it, he wouldn't be hard to track down I think he is with SeaRay on Merit Isle in Florida. Good to see it still out an about.
That is a good looking boat!!
----Just me but it needs a correct bow light. I do love the silver and know that Patrick is partial to it. His Fino is also silver (and for sale).....Bill S
What would be the "correct" bow light?
The cap is coming off this week, so it would be the perfect time to install the correct one!
Edit.....is this the correct one? This is a mid 70's Corsican
