Could someone offer guidance on a supplier for a fuel tank for a 1974 18' classic? Seems to me some of the followers here have had tanks made in Florida but the information on who did them is lost on me. Any good advise? Thanks, Sandy

Yes, I used Best Fab in Bartow.

I found them to reasonably priced and very helpful.
Please ask for "Coal Tar Epoxy" coating on the tank.
Here's a 41 gallon tank dwg. for an 18, or a Minx.
This dwg. was from RDS who has priced themselves
out of the market.

George, thank you I will contact them as suggested. Sandy
Biggest tank that would fit in the original spot without alterations.

I used Florida Marine Tanks (FMT). They were the original makers of the 25 gallon tank in my '78 X18. They still had the original design drawings. Very good to work with too.

Thanks for the replies....looks like I'll wait until we get it opened up to see what size the existing tank is the prior owner was not sure of the capacity.
Sandy, if you do have a small tank and would like to increase it to 42 gallons,
here's a thread about doing just that on an early 18.

George, once again thank you for your valued input....won't be long and we'll know what is hiding under that deck!
I just used TNT in Ft. Pierce, FL. Nice to work with and had mine powder coated for an extra $60,00. I did give them my old tank for a pattern. Mine is a Hornet. Hope that helps, Cadillac
