Generally speaking , as long as I know what boat I'm dealing with , the only numbers that matter are the last two , but I can assure you , someone will be along very soon and tell you the month yours was made and it's position in that year's production run !
Nice boat too. With your back ground I'm sure you're going to have a lot of fun and it'll still look great many years from now.
Just because something's old doesn't mean you throw it away !
the best history is usually provided by the PO with any paperwork or maint folder.
there are apps now that will let you search public records to see if a HIN has been in any accidents like car facts
the HIN you posted is in the post 1984 format
DNA = DONZI MARINE
C2= hullmodel 22 classic
029= serial number the 29th hull built in that model year
K5= month and year the hull was certified K= Nov 5= 1995
96= the model year
sometime in the early 90's they stopped a total production count in a model and went to total for the model year I would think they did it so they could keep the serial numbers in three digits
When the sky is grey,look out to sea.
When the waves are high and the light is dying,
well raise a glass and think of me...
When I'm home again,
boys, I'll be buying!
