so we started to detail, engine compartment

first we sealed all the bung hole openings with TotalBoat Penetrating Epoxy

tomorrow I will touch up the bilge paint than we will move on to engine detail

I'm touching up some gel coat spider cracks in the deck compartments than we will start it up

Today I started the little detail stuff while I wait for dome good weather to fire up the engine on the new CLosed Cooling system. Snowing here

Diamond plate aluminum strips for engine compartment are sprayed Mercury Blue

The undersides of my deck hatches were kinda shabby so I re gel coated them

the inside deck boxes are filled and sanded and ready for gel coat .... But here is what's on my mind

I think I would rather use bed liner on the bottum and a few inches up the side

this way if I put something on there I don't have to worry about the inevitable cracking

We are done with the closed cooling system install

we mounted the fill tank and over flow tank on a custom bracket bolted to the engine ....didn't want to drill any glass and I'm very happy how the system turned out

the engine bay and bildge paint and detail

    The engine paint and detail

all that is left is for me to do the white bed liner in the bottom of the deck and seat compartment ....... Than we will fill the system and start it up and dial it in add the carpet and seats and sit back and smile

Nice work and it looks really good !!
When you start running with distilled water be careful to check the level often. It's amazing how much of it disapates. I went out around 4 or 5 times running just distilled water in the cooling system and I drained it all out after each outting and put in new stuff. It's cheap enough and as my boat had been in salt water I thought it might be a good idea. I did do about a 150 mile trip in freshwater before I did the install.

Looking good! I like your idea of using bed liner in the storage boxes. They get easily damaged if using the storage space. The bed liner should hold up well
Why is faster never fast enough.

    Thank you

I'm going to fill it with distilled water and run in drive way and drain a few times but before it hits the water it will have coolant in it

    Thx

I think it's a better option than re gel coating

I'm using white Monstaliner and will apply it with more of an orange peel finish vs a sharp texture

should make for a more usable locker space and look good

Here is a link that has the exact dimensions etc of the weather stripping

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o02_s00

I know it's standard fair to have the deck lid making contact with glass on glass but I think the weather stripping adds a nice cushion effect
