    been trying to figure out if the new 5.0 block

    been trying to figure out if the new 5.0 block will mate up where my 351w was? Anyone know if it will work and if the exhaust ports are the same bolt pattern? If the exhaust isnt is it possible to make adapters for my headers i have in my 351w.

    I dont even wanna show the pictures of what my 351w has turned into sicne its been sitting for over 7 years sicne ihave not been able to pull the deck. that may be changing soon. but im not sure if the engine is gonna crank over since it sat for so long.

    the brand new ford racing valve covers are shot and so is the brand new edelbrock carb so much pitting i wanna cry. I had been spraying it with wd 40 but this still happened and im not sure the engine is good.

    the carb looks shot I had modified the hell out of it too and it only ran int he boat about 4 times and ran great after tuning it




    Its very sad but life is life and things happen. at least the headers are in good shape, the ford racing 9mm wires are brand new too... if the engine is shot and I cant do the new style motor (with closed cooling of course) and soem sort of adapter plates for the headers if they dont bolt up then iguess ill be going with a 418ciw but i really liked the ide of 6500 rpms as well as being able to swap cams out without pulling the motor..

    this fall/winter I have a good friend who is letting me use his warehouse to pull the deck and he has all the equipment i need to lift the deck off

    The new 5.0 are not windsors so I would think you are going to have line up issues all around. I did see somewhere that they made a new ford marine motor but even the new marine fords are not near the hp that Volvo and ilmor are getting out of the new gen 6.2 motors. Before you go crazy with an old Volvo boat looking for hp and speed read Bills thread on his 16 I think that pretty much sums up performance in an aq powered boat

    the new marine ford is also based on their 6.2 it is the raptor motor and indmar sells them looks like they are only vdrive setup. the only issue I see with the new VVT marine offerings is they make their power in the high rpm range the red line on the new volvo is 6000 rpm they also have a strong torque curve don't think the old AQ is going to like that you have the headers and all of the tinware why not just build a strong 351 and call it a day.

    if I had a v drive classic this would be the power
