Not fully familiar with the OMC technologoy, but could there be a shift interupter switch going bad? I know Merc outdrives utilize a switch to mometarily cut-out the engine during the shift process.
Have to look into that possibility
Ok so looked at the switch mentioned earlier but seems to be fine... Had to adjust the idle up to keep I from stalling out.. I'm at 900- 1000 rpm and it seems to be working fine.
