Dl 210 quotes

i have a 1990 Dl-210 with a 5 liter omc and when we put it in reverse it tends flutter and quit..... Any suggestions

Not fully familiar with the OMC technologoy, but could there be a shift interupter switch going bad? I know Merc outdrives utilize a switch to mometarily cut-out the engine during the shift process.

Ok so looked at the switch mentioned earlier but seems to be fine... Had to adjust the idle up to keep I from stalling out.. I'm at 900- 1000 rpm and it seems to be working fine.
