Is This Donzi A Good Buy?

A friend wants to know. The price is right but I personally wouldn't buy a boat this old unless I was into restoring them. Any other input on this model? http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/boa/4983710868.html

You musta missed that one , eh ? And it was about a yellow boat !
It doesn't get much more current than that .
I still say , regardless of construction foibles , that they're beautiful hulls .

Yep, I missed it and I check in at least once a day. It looks like a good and worthy project boat for someone who likes to restore them. Personally, I like driving them! His videos look like the boat can't even get on plane.

He was takin' it easy so he could stay within range of the camera on the pontoon boat . Surely ?

a few years back a former members doral was up for sale locally it had not been in the water in some years and had assorted wildlife on board.
I was seriously thinking of taking it home . It had sbcs and 280 drives figure just some tlc and elbow grease maybe some minor glasswork. It would be the perfect boat large enough to venture out on the lower hudson LI sound, small enough to trailer security of twins. SO GLAD I passed by the time I sunk time and money into it I would be well over what You can get a 24-29 foot mid 2000s stock go fast/sport boat.
When the sky is grey, look out to sea.
When the waves are high and the light is dying,
well raise a glass and think of me...
    When I'm home again,
    boys, I'll be buying!

In case you missed what the transoms look like with these 24' Donzi's when you open them up & inspect them. When I removed the exhaust tips from my transom I found that Donzi from the factory did not use any sealer on them, hence water wicked into the transom.. These pic's are of my Dorals transom but Bill said his Spitfire's transom looked much of the same. After I replaced the wood in the transom [last pic] back in 2011 it still looks & works as it should.
