    Jabsco water pump

Looking for some help with a Jabsco pump #11850-80 off my HM302 69'classic 18. I just pulled my motor getting ready to do a rebuild and wanted to know if anyone knows who might rebuild Jabsco pumps? Any help would greatly be appreciated...thks Bill

It is pretty straight forward and you can probably handle it yourself. The parts are readily available.

    Jabsco Mechanical Seal - 96080-0080
    Jabsco Impeller - 1210-0001
    Jabsco bearing seal - 93000-0090
    Hoover bearing - C5202FF

    Jabsco water pump

    Hi,

I am also trying to replace my Jabsco 11850-80 1969 HM302 69. I pulled the pump and took cover plate and impeller out. Now need to know how to pull or press the shaft out - how do you get to the bearings.

Thanks for any help - Robert

There is a snap ring that holds the bearing in. The 11850-0801 shares a lot of parts with the 11850-0701. You can still find both pumps and parts for them. The 11850-0711 also has a lot of the same parts.

please list any suppliers that have these pumps all suppliers I know can not get the original pump they are discontinued but that doesn't mean some one somewhere has one on the shelf. they are not cheap the last list price I saw was around 1200 bucks

one note if the brass plate shows wear it needs to be reversed my plate needed to be milled because someone reversed it about 20 yrs ago. the brass plate must be snug a worn plate will make the pump inefficient.

this is just my insight in this I went thru this issue about 2 years ago . I know how much originality means but having these boats out and running is more important.

this is another option to modernize the HM setup and scrap their front end of the motor setup in favor of a more modern ford setup like PCM, volvo, or omc ( note these motors have not be made in decades either) getting rid of the front mount plate , install side motor mounts, and an auto type water pump belt driven .
makes things easier no chinese finger puzzles changing belts and you can give up the constant hunt for parts wait til the t stat housing rots or the cross over tube rots out never mind the teeth on the lovejoy.

or for now look at an electric pump

been there done that got the t-shirt

I've been buying pumps and parts of eBay and Craigslist as I find them. I found a brand new -0711 for a couple hundred bucks and a couple rebuild kits that should keep me running for a few years.

    Jabsco water pump

Here is a photo of the Jabsco water pump I can't get at the snap ring. I need to get the front part of the water pump off that goes to the engine side. All pictures I see have a pulley assembly - mine doesn't. Any one have any ideas? Thanks - Robert

Your coupling should pull off the end. There is a woodruff key that aligns it on the shaft.

Your coupling is pretty worn, but with a new spider coupling it may be ok.

Here's mine when I finished rebuilding it. You can see the new spider in the top left corner.

Not being at all familar with this setup, should ther be a rubber damper between the drive and driven dogs or is the water pump a metal to metal setup?
