14 Baby all soda blasted...its getting there!

The soda blasing is finished. The boat was blue and yellow metalflake. I have no idea what Cigarette was thinking when they rigged and finished this in their plant.

Deck is solid but Transom and stringers need replaceing.

What are you removing with the soda blast, old paint, to get back to the gelcoat?

How does the soda the leave the gel? I had my 18c bottom blasted with glass bead - same deal - mobile guy swore by it. It did a great job on the bottom paint but now i am under the boat with 220 on my DA and the gel can best be described as "pitted". The 220 is barely cutting it...

Wish i could see the pics- im on my iphone. Grrrd

Its a lot less aggressive than media blasting. The gel coat on the 14 was pretty bad and its a little pitted. But I'm not trying to save it like removing bottom paint. The boat will be done completely with spray polyester.

I would think that Soda will work as long as the person doing it is good. You can control soda easier than media.

    Mario

I figured Tammy could tow that setup and Scott could tow another one of the fleet up to the dustoff.
