    I dunno.... D'ya think 4K is a wee bit steep for a "do-it-yourself" clone?

But it has an X18 deck, and a pad!

Seriously, my thoughts exactly. Probably one of those pricing situations based on what he has into it, rather than looking at what it would be worth someone else.

Agreed. It might be a fun project if one were to acquire it at a reasonable price.

You could never expect to recoup big bucks out of it once you were done though. (just because it is a clone). Parts & labour cost the same when building from scratch so, If someone is investing the $$$ for a build it may as well be the real deal.

OTOH, if you are building it to keep forever... it's a looker!
I suppose this sale is a very buyer specific project.

You guys aren't looking at where it is at...

It is from the X-18 molds I sold about 8 years ago, WITH the pad. I don't know who layed it up, but it is from that mold.

In fact, my never seemingly finished product it also still around ( in my shop )

Looks like it was made by JENKINS MARINE whom also make SEA WEST boats in Beautiful Victoria B.C.

Talk about buying a pig in a poke. The seller does not mention anything about how the clone is built and he has no feedback. I can't imagine anyone even making an offer without some clarifications. Just my take.

Agreed. At least give some interior stringer pics and a rough layup schedule if you want a chance at a sale.

I think Bill is right, probably just a guy that bought a project he never got around to but, wants his $ back now. I'd bet he has no idea as to the layup... or any specifics for that matter.

However, Sea West boats are fairly well respected. IF someone was serious I imagine since they built it, and it's not their bread and butter, they would remember it. Sea West is not a huge company but, I have heard of them all the way out in Ontario.
