    Deck "wrap" for a stripe.

I am tired of buffing out my deck stripe....does anyone know a place in the Tampa Bay area that does one?

Pretty much any sign shop that works with vinyl (which is pretty much any sign shop), could make you the stripes.

I did the ones on my boat in vinyl to hold me over until I could paint them on and they turned out great
Why is faster never fast enough.

    Paint is superior.
Any good automotive paint shop can do it.
A good two part, single stage, high density paint like
    BASF R-M UNO-HD.
Likely cost a little more than the vinyl, as the paint cost $300-$400/quart, but it'll last longer than you'll want to keep the boat.

My graphics on my sail boat were still like new when I sold it, that a little over ten years.

George I don't want to use paint for 2 reasons. 1) If the next owner desires original gel....it's easy to remove. 2) My full cover lays on the deck and I am worried it might screw it up if water or wet sunbrella is on it constantly.

Ok...my friend who does wraps tells me I am better off painting it.

Gonna try one other place with the boat in tow and see what gives.

Who has painted their stripe? What did you use for paint? Did you prime? How did it look? How has it held up?

This navy is all paint. It's now about 10 years old. Chachi has seen it recently and it still looks really good..

It is the paint I mentioned above. You can prime w/an epoxy primer from BASF, but it's not part of a "system".
The paint is very durable and can be cleaned w/acetone. Tough stuff.

I sure wish I'd painted the TR, I'd have been done three years ago!

There is a guy in the upper keys who did my boat. can't beat the price if you want Awlgrip. I think... Budman? did the roll/tip method on his boat. You should have seen it in Sarasota a couple years back.

My ZXO is regular paint from the donzi factory. Can't beat that either. The only issues I have with the boat is the area between the rear and front, on the top side, where they opted to not clear the gel. even stored inside it's a pain in the butt to keep looking new.

If you paint it, I'd do the whole deck. My brother did his 22 and it still looked fantastic after 10+ years and a LOT of use.

On the other hand... you can put a 'wrap stripe' on in a couple of hours and be done with it.

I'm leaning still towards wrapping it. If I do decide to paint it I will do it myself with a roll & tip. I helped a friend do his console and it looks awesome.

A lot of the Classics came from the factory with the color painted. Mine is yellow paint over a solid white gel-coat hull. From the factory; I bought it new.
