    1989 Carrera 235 & 1997 Carrera 238 - 24 Degree V

You don't see these often, never mind two to compare. West Coast Carrera built a 24 degree deep V performance hull for 10+ years that was high quality. They are "bigger" water full 8' beam hulls just under 24' in length so a nice rough water size that you can still trailer. It looks like there are two listed now for sale in California, one is a 1989 235 Classic closed deck with the 330hp (flywheel rated) 7.4Carb and the second is a 1997 238 Classic mid cabin open bow with the 310hp (prop rated) 7.4Carb. I guess effectively they both have the exact same motor and can do 64mph light on fuel and peeps. The 235 and 238 are the same hulls and it looks like both are in mint condition. Carrera Classics have smart layouts for a go-fast. The closed deck has jumper seats under the bow that fold flat to add to the bed that is already under there and make a truly huge sleeping area. The mid-cabin's have a smaller open bow cut out than most boats which is smart and that allows the mid cabin jumper seats to also fold flat to create a two person bed so pretty flexible for kids or an overnighter. This model uses drop down bolster buckets because of there high freeboard so you can sit or stand if it gets rough. The deck and dash structure is tall so you can sit straight up in the below deck jumper seats at 6'+.

Probably the roomiest 23 footers I've ever seen and a wave crushing 24 degree bottom. Really nice boats, buy 'em and have a husband-wife matched set! Interesting that both the 1989 and 1997 are priced at $18,000.

    1987 and 2002

One year later and another rare set of Carrera "twins" just came up for sale. One is a 1987 235 Classic closed deck and the other is a 2002 238 Classic mcob. These are very well built hulls and massive for there size. Carrera decided to make there Mid Cabin Open Bow a little different. They have a smaller front open bow area which gives there 235 and 238 Classics a much bigger mid-cabin. I like the way they did it much better than Warlock's MCOB.

This 2002 Carrera 238 Classic with a 496 + Bravo combo just had a price reduction. This hull also would be a very easy repaint to turn the sides all white if you don't like the graphics.

These are well built, high freeboard Mid Cabin Open Bow hulls with a 24 degree V. Started at $24,500, lowered to $22,000 through the broker, and $20,000 from the owner in Arizona directly .

Greg, If I am ever going to buy another boat, we are going to have to do lunch at least once.

    You find some nice stuff.

Sounds good Ken. If you want a 24 degree wave crusher, I certainly like to find 'em. It's fun. and a lot cheaper than buying off a Senator

To give an idea of how long a run the Carrera hulls had here is a 1987 235 Classic in very nice shape. I believe that west coast Carrera built the 235 and then 238 from 1986 to 2006. One hell of a twenty year run.
They are a full 8'2" beam so very roomy. This 1987 closed deck model complete with removable Miami Vice radar arch is priced at ........ $11,900

Been over two years since one of these have been for sale. 1989 Carrera 235, one of the "biggest" boats in it's class and this one is a Mid Cabin with a 502. The bench seats under there are 4'6" long so you can have the kids take a snooze out of the weather. This one is priced at .............. $22,500
