Question How many 22 Classic have left the Factory.

Anyone out there with some statistics over the 22 classic numbers made? First year on the market? Numbers of Black Hawks boats? The fastest setup to leave the factory? Where there many smallblocks made (mine was a -98 SB Bravo)
Also interested in Odd "off the shelf boats" like we have that drive and that engine ,put in in that hull and sell it. If they ever reasoned that way. Curious .

My favorite oddball that I would love to own but they probably only made a handful was the 315hp Yanmar diesel.

I had high hopes for this thread. I know that a couple of 22s left the factory with 525 EFIs. AFAIK that is the biggest engine package that has been factory installed. There are people here who know so much more about the history of these boats though.

it's my understanding that the only 315 Yanmar 22 built was for Adib Mastry, and he still has it, i'm not aware of any others being factory built, or after-the-fact built. I *think* there was also a 16 done with a 4 cyl Yanmar as well, but that was probably done after-the-fact, and not a factory deal, same owner..

Then I sat in the only one made as it was on display at the Desoto fishing tournament many years ago(2001/02)in Bradenton. If memory serves it was a black/white hull w/ Bravo drive and a long 6cyl grey engine.

the 22 probably has the most variants of all of the classic models, some basic info on the 22 family can be found here,
http://www.lgdonziclassic.net/pages/22feet.asp the 7 meter is not part of the variants.

variants of the 22 classic style hull including different hulls and /or graphics and features

    criterion ss
    f 22
22 2+3 with out the windshield
    22 with the windshield
22 with the padded dash combing
22 with the raised dash module
    22 testarosa
    22 25 anniv
    22 30 anniv
    22 limited edition
    22 40th anniv

    22 blackhawk non le
    22 se
    22 aronow
    22 gt
    22 shelby
    22 009

I would say the SE would be the rarest .

also remember that the dealers ordered unique options as well as down and dirty cheap options.
there was one late model 22 with teak floor and accents in lk george very nice. Bob at nelems always ordered unique color boats optioned to the hilt.

The red 40th comes to mind as a economy price driven order from the dealer single ram tabs base model 496 motor not sure what dealer ordered that one

    Very good list Matty!

One very minor correction, the TR is spelled Testarossa or Testa Rossa and according to folks that actually speak and understand Italian, is pronounced "testa ross-ah".

But what would I know about any of this stuff????

Was the Ilmor put in at the factory? Thought it was...if so, seems like that might be as rare as any.

I have pictures of the Yanmar 22 from the 1999(?) Dealer Show on an old hard disk. I'll see if I can find them.
