    Mercury525 solenoid over heat problem

My zr27 with a 525 starts when cold once hot it won't bridging the solenoid and it starts right up. I have replaced the solenoid several times...same problem each time

Try cleaning your grounds, it also can indicate high draw from the starter. Try to borrow an induction ammeter, it gets held on the wire to the starter when cranking. Typically the draw will be about 250 amps.

There are 2 short wiring harnesses going to the solenoid the wires are not very large gage and they are close to the engine. Could the wires be to thin
