    my 1972 classic 18

Hi guys my name is Greg ,Ive been lurking on here for a while now ,this is my first post ,I live on cape cod,and early two winters ago I picked up a 1972 18 fixer upper off craigs list ,with the help from a lot threads on here ive been resurrecting it to its former glory, things like using al's plating in ohio, the correct 23 solas prop ,the right taco rub rail ,finding grab rail ends.and making engine hatch lift .and ford exhaust manifolds all came from here .the latest thing ive done was the interior ,my brother owns cape canvas and rigging and with his knowledge help and equipment ,we banged out our version of a classic interior, the right color for the boat should of been black due to its past black stripe, but I went with yellow and black disco pearl swirl marine vinyl that really pops in the sun,if I was bombing around the lake back in the 70s with a gold medallion around my neck ,long hair blowing in the wind with a goatee, listening to the BEE GEEs ,this is the interior I would of wanted, but instead Ill be bombing around with sun screen on my bald spots and my beer belly jiggling in the breeze singging at the top of my lungs .ahh ahh ahh ahh staying alive staying alive

Hi Greg and welcome aboard. I'm also on the Cape and live on Mashpee/Wakeby. If you ever get over this way stop by and say hello. Your boat looks great. Colors are perfect for the 70's era. Nothing wrong with the Bee Gees.

Welcome to the Board Greg, and thanks for posting the pictures! Nicely done! The boat looks great.

I love the engine hatch with the scoop.

One question, why the Thunderbird logo above the passenger’s grab rail?

Looks like Holman and Moody's competition proven sticker.

Got it! Thanks. I couldn’t quite make it out, and I have not had any experience with Holman-Moody/Ford engines/

From my limited experience, it looked like an old Thunderbird/Formula emblem, which is why I wondered about it.

    Nice boat, great colors!
Looks like your brother does very nice work.

Not sure about the Bee-Gees, but Zeppelin oughta sound pretty good!

    Greg,
I think it looks great! I saw the blue rear seat in one picture - did it used to be blue and white? What did you do for the engine? Bill

{ WHATS HAPPENING CHIEF } I watch the sun set from my boat all the time out by your dock, its the best area on the pond to see it from, I think Im one of the guys your sound sensitive neighbors complain about.
