I'm using a Merc pump with my Volvo 280T. It works fine.

Same here. If using the old style pump the fittings to do what ever you want are easy to find at HD and the like. The newer style pumps have fittings (the ones that screw into the pump) that are special and even my hydro shop had to order them.
A winner is just a loser that got up and did it one more time.
