    Raw Water Pump Installation

See the attach picture of the water pump I purchase and pay close attention to the black plastic inlet and outlet fittings. Do I need to install pipe to hose fittings or can I use the vendor supplied plastic fittings? The reason I ask is the pump came with red FME caps and the black plastic threaded fittings that are flat on (2) two sides. It looks like it could function as a barbed fitting but would be a leak path.

Bob, you can install 3/4" threaded connections to the inside of the plastic fittings, or install 1-1/4" hose to the outside of the brass pump nipples.

    George,
OK I already have the 1 ¼ hose so I'll run it to the pump nipples. The way it's working out I can run the hose directly to the pump and keep it simple.
    Thanks,

I thew the inserts away, kind of doubt if they would leak.
