    Should I use the turbulator in the exhaust

    Using stock 496 manifolds on my 502 that I may decide to run high rpms, prob no higher than 6000 but easily I will want 5000 rpm.

    Should I use the turbulators or not?

    Why are you gonna run such high rpm's? Drives and big blocks don't like that very much.

    +1 on the over 5000! Yes the turbulators catch the condensation as the manifolds cool, just an idea it may help a little with the reversion pulse.

    This motor will make good power until 5500 and is a solid lifter. Drive is a King Cobra and likes higher rpm with power. Also, trying to keep my cruise speed down with smaller pitch prop.

    Will I get rpm from not installing the turb plate or should I just keep it because I might as well.

    I'm not going to run them. Consensus is, aftermarket headers do not have them either so why use them. It's not going to kill the motor. If I moored ever, esp in salt, I might think twice.

    Looks like an 8hp gain. That's a lot for just pulling that piece out. Noticeable? Maybe not, but it's better than 1.5hp for example.

    Now I am totally confused. Why would you want to keep your cruise speed down with a smaller prop? Why not just cruise at a lower rpm? You are th e1st person on here that wants to cruise slower, most want higher.

    Cruising at a lower rpm is harder on the motor. It's better to turn it out more and run less prop. Lots of prop is hard on motor and drive at lower speeds and I don't want to be forced to run 55mph on plane. At this point if I run a 25 pitch I can do 46 at 3000.
