This unit came on the 16 when I bought it, I believe it has ~75-100 hours on it (might be less). GOLDNROD replaced the factory Mercruiser unit (not sure if that one blew up or if he hit something) with this one and added the skeg guard and drive shower.

If you know a way I could remove these one way flat head screws I would remove the skeg! Also attached is a picture of the bottom drain plug as removed this AM, not much crud on it.

the last one I took off I had to use a 3/16 wide blade cold chisel against the screw ramp and they came right out...

I tried with a BFSD with no luck of removing those screws, even if you take off the skeg there will still be the two holes from the screws. I supposed you could PM goldnrod and ask him why he put it on? I think it looks cool. Let me know if you want it!

The skeg is intact. I put the guard on it when the drive was new.
