What little things? Ask away I might be able to help. Is this a Holman moody pkg?

It might help a bit if you have more info like year hull number and any pics of the motor or parts.

The bracket for the throttle cable on my 302 goes on the forward left side of the intake. If the 351 is the same, you'll need to turn your carb around. The bracket is blue in Matty's pics and uses the intake mounting bolts. I had to use smaller washers on the bolts.

Is there an access panel so you can get a picture of the front of the engine?

Search the forums for "351", you'll find them.

    D4L,

I need to know what exactly you have what kind of drive what year boat what year motor.

it doesn't look like an older volvo drive and from the pics probably not an older Holman Moody 351w setup.

The ford windsor platform in a 302/5.0 and 351/5.8 from the late 60's to early 90's were used by Volvo, Mercruiser with their 188/233/888 drive pkg, and OMC with their cobra and king cobra drive.

I can help with some of that and have some manuals that might help as well but posting pics of something you don't have will just muddy the waters. I need to know what setup you have.

are your motor mounts bolted to the side of the motor? or are they part of a plate that covers the timing chain cover?

I can't see enough of the front of the motor to tell

I just checked your older posts. It looks like you have a 70 18 with a ford 351w that you have updated to a merc drive. The original setup was most likely a Holman Moody setup which means it has the front plate and the water cross-over and alt bracket/water pump bracket in one . finding a power steering bracket that works with it will be a challenge they didn't come with them originally.
read this thread Mario did an awesome job on his Corsican ford 302 Merc bravo project he added the power steering pump not sure where he got the bracket. look closely at the pics with the pulleys and belts if you haven't changed the front plate out your 351 should look like this
