looking for some help, I'm looking to swap my 502 to a 454 . What types of obstacles will I run into when swapping these engines . Any help would be much appreciated

If they are the same gen block and no super heads with weird port spacing then just a bolt up.
I seam to remember that the early blocks had different cooling passages and head gaskets then the later.

Whoaaaaaa!!!!!! Hold up a minute!!!!!! You can't REDUCE cubic inches???? That's going to be LESS power??????
I have never met ANYONE who said: I wish I would have gone with a smaller engine.
Just sayin,

why are you doing it?
is the 454 free?
is something wrong with the 502?
don't do it, waste of time and money.

The 502 is supercharged with around 850hp , way to much horsepower for this boat . Once you get above 80 it gets squirly. I'm looking at selling the boat and using the 502 in a 29' deck boat
Makes sense, prep to sell, keep the big engine
