I have a 1999 28zx with twin 350 mpi. The port engine starts and dies when the engine is hot and it's hot outside.
I can only get it restarted using full throttle. ( like it's flooded) Any ideas on what is causing this?

Sounds like a weak fuel pump. Does it start up after sitting awhile.
never waited long enough to find out. But always starts cold.
I had the same issue on mine and it ended up being the fuel pump. When the pump got hot it would not pump enough fuel. Tryed changing all kinds of things. ect sensor, map sensor, tps sensor ecu and it ended up being the fuel pump. I hope this helps
Thanks to all. I was told by a marina that Mercury has a booster fuel pump that would resolve the problem.
