Mostly used in the Sacramento Delta, though this pic was from Lake Powell a few years ago. I still need to get back there one day!

    1987 minx

New interior coming shortly from Josh at DonziDirect. He now has the patterns for the Minx.
Boat has about 525 hours and runs like the first day I got it. I am the original owner.

    boomr,

I made the dash myself. Purchased the carbon fiber sheet, drew a pattern and introduced Mr. Hole Saw to Mr. Sheet.

Purchased the sheet from a place in Mass. Let me know if I can help.

    Ken (CHACHI),

I appreciate the info. I might hit ya up for the info later.
I'm thinking that might be a project for next winter, along with new guages.

    It looks great, thanks.

    Another Minx

Purchased this 1988 Minx late last summer after much research on this site. I saw my first Donzi Minx in 1991 and loved it at first sight. Swore I'd have one someday....and no other would do ! It's hull # 165...so the second last Minx built....and as far as I know the only yellow and white one ever built. Previous owner said it was special ordered. I believe he also indicated that the teak swim platform was also special ordered but I'm not certain. It's all original with a 350 mag and Alpha one....but I've had a 383 stroker built over the winter for it. Now that the summer is here....I'm having second thoughts about the stroker and whether I should just keep the boat stock....since it's running fine and has but 428 hours on it. I'm open to opinions, boys....what should I do ??

All my boating is on Okanagan Lake in beautiful Kelowna, BC.

Congrats on the boat, looks awesome.

Some would say pulling a motor that runs fine is like taking points off the board. But you did build the 383 already. And I know what Billy Squier and Clarence Carter would say...

    Welcome!

Great looking boat. I love the yellow.

You had best make sure your trim tabs are all the way up before loading back onto the trailer.

Regarding the engine; you must have some "gear head" tendencies or you wouldn't have built the 383 engine for the boat. But it all comes down to what do you want to use the boat for?

You can always install the 383 and store the original engine to put back in the boat at some point in the future if you decided you want to sell it, and believed originality would bring more money.
