And I wouldn't be upset if you did buy it - in my book it is a screaming bargain.
Greg, do you think this one has a cored hull since it is the Offshore model?

You'd really need to insoect it Bill. Just because it is the "Offshore" model does not guarantee that it is cored. The 24 "Euro" came both ways as well. The coring was a layup schedule option, and an expensive one from Team Warlock. If you climbed under the bow and there was an open glass area that wasn't covered with carpet, you could then tell for sure. The grid pattern will give it away. Just don't tell the owner what he has if it is!

This particular Team Warlock 23 Offshore was ordered in December of 1989 and went out the door at $39,400 in early 1990 with a new VM Trailer and a 454Magnum Bravo One package. As I give it some thought, my gut says that is on the high side price wise. I'll check my prices to see if there is any way to compare and determine if the hull carried the core option.

    Greg,
I think it was a good deal so I bought it today for someone special to me . Keith and I talked for about 30 minutes and consumated the deal over the phone this afternoon. I will fill you in later about all the details. Bill

There you go. Keith is the original owner. Should be a nice piece. Of course I get first dibs when you sell it Bill.

You got it, but I didn't know you had any interest in it. Keith actually took a test ride with Stolarz and a friend when his friend bought one - how cool is that?

I was getting pretty interested when it hit $15k but I really still want an XRI so I kind of talked myself out of it. The fact you grabbed it is awesome. I'll happily wait for you to sell it if/when fully sorted. Stolarz at the wheel is tooooo cool. I do believe that you need to pay him a visit while he is still around. I'm sure he would have some interesting stories. These boats are very well kept secrets with the 6' transom width. I have a gent running 90 with one. Looking forward to you starting up a thread on it.

PS - Bill you might be the only guy in North America who has both a 23 Offshore and 28 Offshore. That's a cool double down.

Thanks Greg! I was a little worried that I inadvertently might have stepped on a deal you were working on after you mentioned getting first shot at it if I sell it, but I wouldn't think you would have posted about it for sale if you were after it right now. Anyway, I already know it needs a little upholstery work and probably a new rubrail - no big deal. The new parts that Keith installed will more than make up for the small stuff I might have to do. I have a feeling I would get along with Stolarz fairly well and would learn quite a bit from him. Double down Bill, I like the sound of it

I poked around a bit and I believe that you will find upon inspection Bill that your boat is going to have the cored hull option. The fastest 23 Offshore in the country is running a 540 making 680hp spinning a Spinelli 4 blade and has laid down 92mph on GPS and 91 numerous times. It will be interesting to see where your drives prop shaft center sits below the keel when you get the 23 delivered. I am going to guess 4 1/4".

How did you come to the conclusion that the 23 I am buying has the cored hull? Those are some fast speeds for a 23' deep v. It is a 24 degree hull - correct?
By the way, Double Down is especially applicable since Keith is a casino dealer. (I just hope he is dealing me a good hand)

Well just don't hit 17. I took a look in the archives and the price that Keith paid back in 1990 is high enough that the cored option could have been included. The 23's are full 24 degree bottoms, yes. They are very fast for there size which is 23'6" tip to transom. The 92mph boat is running a stock drive I believe.

I'm not sure how you are dealing with getting the boat out of Vegas but if it needs some upholstery work and misc other stuff you will be passing by Lake Havasu and Arko Upholstery. These guys are some of the best in the business on dealing with older stuff. They fly under the radar though as they have plenty of referral work. The father runs Lake Havasu and the son runs South Padre doing Cats to G-IVs. Those Team Warlock 23 Offshores had a very peculiar interior material in the early builds. If it could be sourced or matched Arko Havasu would be the shop to do it. The Dad has connections that go back decades. They probably know Stolarz on a first name basis as well. They are exactly 2 hours from Vegas. Worth a phone call to check. Nice guys.

Thank you Greg. You are a wealth of information! I will be putting the Warlock up on Uship as soon as we consumate the deal. I need to see the boat before doing anything to it, but I appreciate the upholstery tip. So you can somehow look up the purchase price of older Warlocks?

Congrats on the purchase. I didn't think it was going to last long at that price. I saw that the ad got pulled shortly after Greg posted it, but I was still going to call the guy and if it was available when I went down in a few weeks I was going to buy it an pull it back home.

If it runs half decent, I think you got a screamin' deal! Enjoy!
Why is faster never fast enough.

Thanks. I probably need to quit reading Greg's Warlock updates, but this one grabbed me too. I already got the okay from Keith to have it shipped after overnighting the payment on Monday so I started the Uship bidding tonight. Who knows - I might have it as early as this weekend. Considering all the improvements he had done and running close to 85MPH at sealevel, it did not take me any time to make a decision. Keith was surprised at all the calls he was suddenly getting from people in the midwest, but none from California or his area. He is overnighting the boat and trailer title to me which I should get Thursday. I will get it all dialed in with any upholstery work and rubrail it might need after test driving it ASAP. I am actually getting excited about it!
