    Exhaust to hatch clearance

    Hi all

I'm in the process of repowering my 2003 22C. I made a mistake of pulling the engine without out taking some measurements first. I'm hoping someone that has a 496 or 500/525efi boat around that year might be nice enough to meause the distance from the exhaust high point to the hatch. Even better would be the crankshaft center line to the hatch. My boat is already at the fiberglass shop geting structural upgrades including new transom. I'm tring to decide if there is room to raise the x-dimension without modifying the hatch.

    Thanks
    Greg

1987's and the shelby's were 1 inch higher. (87's measured out to just over 1 inch). CMI's will just rub at that height. The exhaust is the main issue. Keep in mind that not all 22's are exactly the same. I'd get solid measurements on what you have and go from there.

I just so happen to have an 87 22C with the raised X in my driveway. It has the 454/330 with stock exhaust.
