    Need a procedure

Decided to install the original Built-Rite style interior while the motor is out and need a procedure to install both the male end and female end snaps. I have holes ever ware excerpt where I need them, the old two piece back seat I removed was attached with screws form the backside and the original snap holes were filled in. I may be overcomplicating this but before I get started would like to hear from someone who has done this before.
    Thanks,
    Bob

The female part will need an installation tool that looks like a pair of Vise-Grips.

It has been a while since I did one but once you attach the male end to the boat you put the female end on the male then the press the point thru the vinyl strip on the interior then put the cap/ backing on with the tool. I think that's how I did it
Forget the distance between snaps like 3.5 inches.
You have to dry fit and measure with the interior the snap goes like 3/4 to an inch under the edge depending on how wide the vinyl strip is on the seat back so you don't see the snaps and on the bottom the strip and snap are visible

Like I said it was a while ago

Bobby, I cheated... I took mine to my upholstery guy and for 60 bucks he installed them. Price of a decent lunch! I didn't want to buy the tool...

Jim, sounds like $60.00 well spent.

Who's your guy? The white/teal 22 I bought is getting it's interior spiffed up too.

Rodney from Boat Fashions on Anders Lane. He is very good, a little slow but I think that goes with the territory...

The tool, FWIW, retails for over $125.00.

    distance between snaps is

5 1/2" on my 02 18. You can see that the snaps are on the lower edge of that tap of material so you cant see them.

The Gucci Deluxe one is 125 and that's the one to have / use. I bought a 35 dollar jobbie that is a POS but it DID get the job done and done well.
