BX1 anode recommendation?? (90% fresh water)

What metal anode type would I want to use for a boat that spends about 90-95% of its time in fresh water, and a few days a summer in salt? When I do go into salt, we go out and come back in through locks, so I always end up back in fresh water. Boat is used close to 300 hours a summer, but is stored on its trailer and not in the water. Every once in a while it will stay in the water over the weekend, but that happens maybe 3 or 4 times a summer for 2 nights max.
I assume zink anodes would be pointless for the amount of time I am in fresh, but is it better to go with magnesium or aluminum?

    I was told magnesium.

I too boat in fresh, but I still have the stock mercury anodes on my outdrive.

In defense on my laziness, the boat lives on a lift when not in use and in 6 years only5 nights in the water.

I think Merc uses aluminum which is the in between metal.

Magnesium for fresh and zinc for salt is the rule of thumb. I think if you don't boat in salt for more than a few days a year and it doesn't sit over night in salt I'd go with Magnesium.

I would stick with the stock aluminum ones. Only because you do occasionally go into salt water. If you never go into salt, go with magnesium.

I usually install Aluminum for those sort of applications too.
