    Was the original stringer grid that beefy?.......I can't remember what you ripped out & how thick they were.
    What is the core material.............doubled up plywood?.............She should with stand any pounding that's
    thrown at her with that stringer system .........Nice -n- Beefy!

    The original wasnt even close to that beefy. Stringers are all marine ply and coring is grain end balsa.

    it is amazing when you see the boat in this form, it looks so much bigger than a 18, hard to believe that it is just 14 1/2 inches X 10 1/2 inches that makes the difference

    And more freeboard too.

    Volume goes up geometrically. If you take a box and increase each dimension by 10%, volume goes up by roughly 1/3.

    And if you add more Freebird, the classic rock volume is trebled!

    the difference in freeboard is about 4 inches
