    Sweet 16 OEM Gas Tank

New owner of a 1990 Donzi sweet 16. OMC Cobra 4.3

The boat has sat for a number of years, so I am cleaning and replacing a number of items in the fuel system before I attempt to start the motor.

When I opened the mid cockpit large access hatch that gives you access to the gas tank, fuel sender and the fuel valve, I was surprised to find a plastic tank. The tank appears to have been in the boat for a number of years, if not since new.

Question, what material was the OEM tank on this 1990 model?

It is a stock poly tank very trouble free.

To answer your question, as Phil was saying, it is cross-linked polyethylene. Most likely a Moeller, and it is most definitely original. If you can get the tank model number off the plate, I may be able to get a drawing of it, no promises.
