I have a 1999 mercruiser 454 MPI. I need to either buy new injectors or have them cleaned and flow tested, since I just had the engine rebuit. The motor is .03 over with all stock internals. I'm trying to avoide spending $1120.00 on stock replacement injectors. Is there a GM automotive injector that I can use insted to save money, or any other maker or alternative??? how many pounds is this Mercruiser injector? Also, is there anything to gain from getting higher pound injectors along with hotter cam? Or would this just lead to me needing more high performance computer **** and sensors????
THIS MPI REBUILD CRAP HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT A PAIN IN MY ASS!! It seems like all I do is pay WAY more money for less performance. My builder insisted staying fuel injected to save money. Given, we didn't expect to need new heads. I should have stoped right there and said lets carborate it. These injectors are the last straw!!
