Bahamas Donzi 22 with Verado 350hp

Just came across these pictures while going through an album belonging to a friend of mine. These were taken in Abaco, Bahamas. No info on the boat but it sure looks like a cool setup. 350HP Verado!

Those 350's are awesome. I hope he is running at least 91 octane, or boom.

any idea how these boats would run with the outboards?

sort of under the impression that a 22 should have about 400 hp min to get it into the 70mph area
would the outboard get it there as well by being lighter and spinning faster?

does the boat act the same without the extra weight on the back or does having the outboard father back compensate for the difference?
Please keep in mind I don't know anything......
any information I have is made up.....
and generally I am part of the problem

I can't tell if there are one or two Verado's on the back of the 22 Classic. Here is some data that might be of interest. Although a different hull, the Ultra is also a 22 foot V. We converted one of the Ultra IO hulls from BBC power to a 250 fishin motor on a bracket and clocked 64 on GPS. We collected the data below. Properly set up, the 22C with a single Verado would be 70-71 IMO all day long

    site member photos

Boat looks similar to photos sent to me by Alistair Key who was posting about his newly acquired Donzi 22ZX "screwed twice." He said the Donzi outboard included in his photos belonged to his cousin. Alistair's father is active in the running the local marina there.
