This is like it came out of a time capsule--too cool. Though, having grown up with a more typical 17, I wonder what side to side roll feels like in that one. In rough seas, being that high up, I bet it's like being up a mast.

I know that boat from my Whaler club and it truly is in great condition. He has a bunch of coin in her as well. They are not THAT rare but in that condition they are. Problem is finding somebody to buy the ugly duckling. My 19' Revenge is not the prettiest in the world but.....Click image for larger version.

Been done many times. Use a 17' Smirked hull(late '76+) and make sure everything mounted well(console, etc). Knew a guy with a 200 Yamaha on one. Did about 60. If you want more fun, put a 115 on a 15 Whaler....mid 50's + and a scary ass ride at that. Guy has one with a 130 Yamaha and installed a keel pad. Thing is crazy.

been looking for Currituck's or Nauset's or Newport's, I don't want a fwd console stand up, but I do want the in-hull rigging channel, want a virgin no bottom paint hull, and that's REAL hard to find in the Whaler family, I think 80% had bottom paint.. I like that 22 that Ed Hinckley has for sale, if it was only 5k cheaper..

Sorry but you are mistaken....many/most have no bottom paint if not in the NE or CA. Personally I would NEVER shy away from paint, easy enough to remove.

PS...if anyone has any questions about Whalers, PLEASE let me know. You guys know Donzis, I know Whalers.

Bui...here is my Whaler club I started about 10 years ago. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Gulf-C...?ref=ts&v=wall

Yes Continuouswave is the best place for info. on Whalers. My screen name there is Tohsgib.

There are tons of 16/17's without bottom paint, especially in FL.

How long did it take you to type this?

And how/why did you think his screen name was something other than what it appeared?

    Sometimes you frighten me.
