Forced induction on a stock 330/310?

Would a stock 454 330/310 handle a whipplecharger? Would something else be better for the engine and drive(B1)? What would boost do in terms of hp and speed? Lastly.... what is $$$?? I can install.

I can get a 671 for a G but that means hatch mods, rect port heads, etc so more like $2-2.5k. I see whipples for cars going for under $4k so am curious. I also remeber reading here that certain systems put too much stress on the drive.

I'm confident you could, for the same money, buy a 502 w/the potential for even more power in a NA configuration than the expense of blowing your 454.

    GC I appreciate your input!

I agree but I was "thinking" if I could do a small boost on the stock 454 and have a little fun...when the time comes I could put the same setup, with more boost, on the new powerpant down the road. What is good for the 454 can be good for the 502...he he!

My 454 is in mint condition and may last another decade or so. So considering a say $4k investment when the time comes 5+ years down the road I now have the boost...again just thinking.

Again..what would it do for me, procharger, whipple, or 671? What is best for the drive?

There are a lot of stock internals 454 blocks making decent HP, it would not be the first to have a huffer of some kind.
