    the early boats used

    the colors

    wonder white
    christina blue
    grumble green
    lucan red

    they were soon joined by

    inca gold
    barbado blue
    tangerine

the early boats also came with solid hull colors late 60's early 70's the white bottom with colored sides became popular.

what was the boat's original color.
When the sky is grey, look out to sea.
When the waves are high and the light is dying,
well raise a glass and think of me...
    When I'm home again,
    boys, I'll be buying!

The hull was painted. I sanded the deck, it's a hideous dull yellow with a dark green stripe.

do you have a hull number? with a 69 you could pick any shade of the colors that were used in that era

red, yellow, orange, light blue, white, black, dark green and go with a solid or two toned hull. this is just me but i would stay away from the newer colors like teal and maroon and honey. if you get me the hull number i can get you the original colors. sounds like an inca gold hull with grumble green stripes

That is another problem, I have the deck off and I still can't find a hull #.

look by the bow eye backing plate where the nuts are. look on the back of the dash. look for any black marker lines then look at them at different angles the numbers are not always rightside up.

any serial numbers on the motor or drive?if they are original that might help.

The Engine # is 090E-6015-B-4. Looks like SHI below that. Who should I send the #'s to?

    302 ford?

    could the first letter be C instead of a 0 that could make it a 69 302 or a D instead of a 0 that could make it a 79 ford 302

if you have some pics of the boat i might be able to idedntify the year and maybe narrow down the search. any number on the drive? silver tag on the top cap balso check the bell housing for a silver tag as well.

I believe it is the original engine, 351 Windsor, the Holman/Moody package. The tag on top of the outdrive is also gone but a H/M tag is on the back of the outdrive.

Does anyone know the name of what was originally used in 69', or todays equivalent? The green waterline seems to have been added. Thank you.

they used a few different suppliers, i posted the mincraft info and they also used ferro which could be yuma yellow #973 . the green donzi called grumble green

they didn't make alot of all yellow with grumble green striped 290 HM packages.
69 was the first year for that factory offering but alot of older boats were upgraded to that motor when it became available.

with out finding the hull number or HM number it will be hard to tell wether this is an original package or an updated one. most late 60's donzi are mis-dated my 68 was a 67 my current 69 is a 68. this happened for several reasons.

    good luck with the project
