    Correct red gel for 1994 22C

    I have a 1994 22C that I need a gelcoat paste kit for. They show 2 reds, anniversay red and just red. What color would this be?

    I think, but not sure, that if it were "Anniversary Red", it would be an "Anniversary Edition".
    I also think I've seen a picture of an anniversary edition and it's a little more maroon, so I'd guess yours is "red".

    Matty, it's interesting how lighting changes colors.
    I think your picture may be more accurate than this one;

    Ok so anniversary would SAY anniversary on it....I'm just red. Yes mine is more maroon than fire engine red like the new ones and older ones.

    Thanks

    Holy snagglepuss! Spectrum has little patch paste kits that are about $36 delivered. I have been using these for years on my Whalers. The donzi White or red only comes in 1 gallon minimum....yikes. Minicraft is a tad better as their patch paste kit is only like $150 delivered. Guess I will be trying my local automotive paint store to mix me up some gel. I only need enough for 3 chips smaller than a dime....thimble full?

    Nick, please keep in mind red is a dark color and is formulated in a neutral base gel and not white.
    Also, in a neutral base, it'll take a bunch of red pigment to get the proper result.
    I've never tried it myself for a dark color, I wish you well.

    Are u just doing touch up? I saw you were looking at covering it. Is it that bad?
    I have spare tubs of AquaBuff 1000 and 2000, will make it pop.

    Too keep it that way, since it is gel, wax it and then put sunblock on it.(303 Protectant) It will not fade quickly.

    I just want to put some gel in the chips. Yes I am doing a touchup on the gel. How much for a quart of auquabuff?

    Has anyone used that stuff in E-Bay under the Donzi search? I know it is a polymer BS but has anyone tried it?

    TIDBART are you referring to gel or the wrap? I am going to buff/wax before the Saraota event in 3+ weeks. If I am NOT happy I will do something else. My post here is for a couple chips that I would like to fill ASAP.

    I was referring to the gel. I wouldn't wrap the stripes. Really no need and probably not a good application of the wrap.

    Aquabuff comes in two grits 1000 and 2000 and is made for machine finishing. So, you will need a polisher. It is a paste compound. It comes in 16 oz. tubs. I can sell both to you for $20 shipped. I bought two of each to do my boat and believe me, it goes a long way. I have most of the original tubs left and did my whole boat. It will last for several seasons.
