1968 Corsican gas tank

I am looking for a new gas tank for my 1968 Corsican. Does anyone know where I can buy one or have one made? Thanks for the help.

Do you have the 25 gallon tank?
If you do and you'd like the larger 42 gallon tank, it can be done pretty easily.

I've done this exact job on my Corsican a few years back. I replaced mine with a 44 gallon tank . . increasing depth and length. Happy to share the drawings and the manufacturer's contact info with you. It's at work and not accessible to me today.

As I recall the original tank was 25 gallons. The difficulty with a longer tank is that at 44 gallons it extends back so far that the cockpit floor hatch covers the back end. This leaves the back of the tank exposed to rain and water that can get in the cockpit . . I foamed my tank in place . . .so water can pool on top of the rear of my tank . . .not desirable, so I seal my cockpit hatch . .it does make for easy access to the fuel pick up and sender which in the stock location is not easy.

I just did this in my '78 x-18. I got the tank from Florida Marine Tanks (FMT). I went with the OEM, which is actually 23 gallons. I have the spec's for the tank if you'd like also. Check out my thread on my replacement http://www.donzi.net/forums/showthre...nk+replacement

I've been working part time for a tank builder (not building tanks but other aluminum welding) and his work is excellent. His name is Tony Perez and Sunrise has been a family biz for 40 years. His dad started back in the 70's in Miami building tanks for the major boat builders. Probably dealt with Aronow back in the day, I know he built for Pantera. 941-412-3500 BTW he's got one hell of a quick turn around time!!!!

when I did my tank in '03 I went with FMT they did the original tanks it's a FMT 23DZ had the site gauge and all. Rootsy here has a drawing for a 34 ish gallon tank that fits in the original bulkhead if your looking to increase range without moving bulkheads
