    99 Donzi 28 ZX Props??

Hello, this is my first post i just bought a 1999 Donzi 28 ZX with twin 350 MPI'S and i love it. I understand that with the stepped hull it takes a little time to get out of the hole. I have 23 pitch props Mirage and i can just peak right about 5k they are not perfect so i would imagine a little tuning would put me at 5k. My question is does anyone know if another prop will work better on my boat for getting it out of the hole without prop spin and still retain a good top speed. Thank you

And of coarse i have tabs all the way down and drives all the way IN to start off.

I had a 99 28zx dont use any tab taking off. It makes it worse, never had any trouble getting on plane. 23p is the right prop for your set up assuming you have 1.5 drives.

23 mirage seems to be the best all around for planing and running for your set-up. I know some have run 25 mirage non labbed but getting on plane was a bit of an issue.

Congrats and post a pic of your boat!

I checked they are the Mirage plus 23pitch, and i have never tried with no tabs i figured she would ride way up i will try it. I talked to our prop people and she said it is the right prop but she wants me to try a 24pitch 4 blade, she has a demo set so at least i wont be out any money if they dont work. I will get a picture up soon i just washed it today and planning a buff and wax for the weekend. It has the red/white/blue paint from the factory and only a few chips from the road i would imagine i am trying to find paint to match.

The 23 mirage plus is the correct prop, if you want to try a 4 blade you want to go down in pitch.
try it with the tabs up it will work much better.
Wish I still had my 28

ok i am going to try that before i even get into trying any other props. What do you have now ? I really like the boat so far it feels much bigger than it is the way it handles but on the other hand it turns like a jet ski if you want.

Congrats on your purchase 99!!! We love ours too. Planing is not as fast as some of our friends that have bajaha 302's (one has twin 496 HO's and the other has twin 383's). Out of the hole they will get me, but on the big end i'll spank the small block boat and just barely edge the big block boat. I never mess with my tabs, too lazy, i just play with the drives. 23P mirage plus's as well for us. The plus gives you bow lift (which is what you need with this boat) where the regular Mirage gives you stern lift. Have fun with your new ride, anxious to see some pix. What part of the country do you boat in?

Very Nice!!! Same color scheme as Rumshaker's '98 28ZX. He won't be able to help you with the planing though, he has a single big block putin out around 650 HP. I think my tabs (K-planes) are around 4 as well.

    Hi Everyone,

I have an 01 (28zx) twin 350's this is my 3rd summer with it so I have been playing with props. The boat had 22pitch 4 blades when I bought it and the best i could get was 63 mph. I changed to 23p mirages (can't remember if they are the plus) got 66mph but hit the rev limiter, so I picked up a set of 25p mirages (not sure if they are the plus) i get 67mph but i am only turning 46-4800rpm. I tried a set of cleavers but it cavataed badly out of the hole and I only got 68mph on top.

    I boat on lake michigan.
