    Upgraded the steering

Have been looling for a couple of yrs now and finally came accross a good deal on a used system. Bought off of OSO. Had to rebuild the helm (it was very easy--only about 5-6 o-ring seals). Had to have hoses made up. Moderately easy--have to learn a whole new terminology on the sizing. Install was pretty easy--took about 5 hrs total.

Now for the finally--The difference--At high speed the difference is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! The boat has so much more stability at high speed. I can actually let go of the steering wheel at 70 mph and the boat goes straight as a rail.

My total cost for the upgrade= 1800. This system new is 5k.

That is a great addition for such little money - I presume the wing plate came with the setup. Bill

Too cool, looks good Fly Tom! I recently did a similar upgrade and you're right, the difference is amazing! My left elbow is thanking me! The suprising thing is that it seemingly has changed the attitude of the boat too, just seems so much more planted. Not trying to hi-jack, just wanted to show a pic:

That's the best bang for the buck as far as performance upgrades/safety and you come across a great deal to boot!

I drove a boat recently with no hydraulic streering...short trip.
